Earlier this month I posted a question on Round Ball Passion, Who is the Greatest Footballer Ever?, and whilst voting hasn’t been fantastic the post is slowly accumulating hits which will eventually answer the poll’s query. Now I’d like to pose a similar question about another great sport, golf.
You might think the question Who is the Greatest Golf Player Ever? would come down to a straight choice between Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, but despite those two being great golf players there are other candidates waiting to tee off too.
When it comes to naming the King of Swing, golf fans have a tendency to list those who have won the most major golf championships as being the best players ever. However I believe some great golfers haven’t won the amount of major tournaments their talent deserved and have included some of them in my poll.
Unfortunately there’s no place in my greatest golfer poll for major winners Byron Nelson (5 majors), Bobby Locke (4) and current USPGA golfer Phil Mickelson (4), but my list had to end somewhere.
